Lac des Iles (LDI) has 213,000 tonnes of M&I Resources with potential to grow. A new mineral resource estimate was published in early 2024. The potential exists to further expand production at LDI through drilling of exploration targets and processing material from Northern’s wholly-owned Mousseau deposit.

LDI hosts battery-grade graphite and is a cash-generating asset with an established customer base. The Company is currently working toward a pit extension that could add up to eight more years of life to the mine. LDI has been producing for over 35 years, with a pit extension targeting production ramp up from 10-15,000 tpy to nameplate capacity of 25,000 tpy. It is located 150 km northwest of Montreal, Quebec. The updated mineral resource shows potential to extend mine life by approximately 8 years. The Company is currently authorized to mine to 209m in the current pit, which is approximately 10m above the water table. Pre-stripping activity is currently underway as part of Phase 1 of an expansion program that could potentially add eight years to the mine life. The Regional Economic Growth Through Innovation Program is financing 75% of the eligible costs through an interest-free, repayable contribution of up to $6.2 million for the expansion program.","Mousseau West: Northern Graphite Corporation has entered into an agreement that provides it with the option to acquire a 100% interest in the Mousseau West Graphite project, located approximately 80 kms from the producing Lac-des-Iles graphite mine in Quebec. The property consists of 12 claims totalling 489 hectares in size. Over 7,500 meters of drilling has been carried out on the Property, and it contains an Inferred Resource of 4.1 million tonnes grading 6.2% graphitic carbon. The deposit is potentially suitable for open pit mining, with a low waste-to-ore stripping ratio. The Company is classifying both the Inferred Resources contained in the Report and the Reserves calculated by DMBW as historical estimates as the Company’s Qualified Person has not performed sufficient work to classify them as either current mineral resources or mineral reserves."]
